Chats are a handy way to quickly give additional information or ask for clarifications from all/some suppliers. This article covers how to use and access them chat in Mercanis.
Where to Find the Chat
Chats in Mercanis are connected to events.
For every Sourcing or Assessment Event in Mercanis, a chat will be created automatically between your team and all suppliers associated with this event.
Chats can be accessed in two spots:
- A button inside a specific event will forward you to that respective chat ("Supplier Chat")
- The conversation center will hold All chats in one place, and can be reached via the Mercanis menu bar.
3. In order to initiate a conversation, you need to first connect to it using the "Connect to the Chat" button.
Never miss a thing: email notifications will be sent to you and the supplier/s for each message sent. Once you see an email that has the line "You have received a new message in the project "[Event Name]", you can go to the platform and read the new message in the chat section - after clicking on "Connect to the Chat".
Types of chats
Group Messages - Message all suppliers associated to this event. This can be used to announce information, alert of changes or to add clarification to all suppliers associated to this event.
Individual Chat - Open a 1:1 conversation with specific supplier, useful for quick rounds of clarifications or additional information.
All chat activity remains linked to the respective sourcing or assessment event, ensuring full visibility and documentation.
