This article explains how to manage permissions in Mercanis using role groups
Important preface
Generally, a more powerful permission will take precedence over a less powerful permission. This means, if a user is in multiple role groups, he will always have the most powerful permission available.
Because of this, the General role group, that includes every Mercanis User automatically, should have the lowest permissions possible.
Setting up role groups
Navigate to Settings >> Role Groups >> Administrative. To create a role group, click "Create Role Group"
After that, do the following steps:
Fill in the Role Group Details: On the left side, choose a name (e.g., "Category Managers") and a description for the role group.
Add Members: Select the users you want to include in this role group. You can typically do this by searching for their names or email addresses. Use the trash icon, to delete users from the role group again.
Set permissions: On the right side, control access by choosing the respective option for each function or area
To save, click "Create Role group".
Delete a Role Group
To delete a role group, click the trash icon in the upper right corner of the role group. The 'General' default group cannot be deleted.
Edit a role group
To edit a role group, click the pencil icon on the respective role group. Then you can follow the same steps as in "Creating a role group".
